Our next weekend getaway is less than a week away! What do we have planned, you ask? We are spending the weekend in Newburyport, Massachusetts . . . on a boat! I know exactly what you all are thinking . . . us + alcohol + the open ocean = “Woman overboard! S.O.S!”
Yes, yes . . . it’s a recipe for disaster, but we like living life on the edge. 😜 At the very least, it should provide entertaining results to our Instagram stories.
However, to reassure you all (alright, alright, it was actually a concern voiced by certain husbands so we’ve reassured them we aren’t actually going to cast-off) we’re just going to stay docked at the Newburyport Yacht Club and eat, drink, and shop our way through the weekend.
They were much reassured. Kinda. 😉
As a precursor, we had a girl’s night a couple Thursdays ago on a beautiful night. We christened Kathleen’s new boat and toasted in the summer ahead. Summer can be a difficult time to plan getaways. We are all busy with our families, so it’s hard coordinating a weekend when we’re all available. Even this coming weekend will have Sarah leaving us Saturday morning for a family vacation on the Maine coast. But we love our weekend retreats and are determined to get away, so we decided to plan our summer retreats around what we have available to us: newly purchased boats (shout-out to Shep for buying it! He won’t regret telling us about that purchase at all! 😜) or already planned vacations (Sarah doesn’t know it yet, but we plan on crashing her family trip to Maine – shhh . . . don’t tell her! 🤫)
So, stay tuned! The weather forecast looks perfect and we’ll be packing our weekenders before you know it! By the time we’re back, there will be stories to tell, and head counts to perform!
